We offer a comprehensive range of GP services. You can get advice and treatment for a wide range of common and less common medical symptoms and illnesses.

In particular, we offer a full Family Planning service including fitting and removal of Implanon, Mirena and copper coils, emergency contraception, referral for male or female sterilisation.

We have a medical weight loss clinic which is specially geared towards reaching and maintaining a healthy weight longterm.

You can avail of a full Travel Vaccine service as Galway Bay Medical Centre is a designated Yellow Fever Vaccine centre. We stock all routine travel vaccinations including typhoid, hepatitis A and B, tetanus, diphtheria, polio, yellow fever, rabies.

We also offer Cryotherapy; Health screening; STI screening;Well-man and Well-woman checks; smear tests (free with Cervicalcheck where appropriate); suturing. We also offer a new nurse-led ‘Health Check’ service.

In addition we offer the full range of routine GP services that you would expect, including management of acute and chronic illnesses, antenatal care (scheduled visits are free), childhood vaccines (free within schedule), blood testing including diabetes and cholesterol screening, blood pressure testing, ECGs, 24 hour blood pressure monitor, driving licence reports, ear syringing, contraceptive and fertility advice, smoking cessation advice, influenza vaccines, and many more.

We place strong emphasis on enhancing your health. This is achieved through a variety of methods, for example, health screening, weight loss clinic, cancer screening (cervical, prostate, breast, skin), travel health planning, smoking cessation advice, STI screening, advice and referral re mole mapping, amongst others.
