Why

The out-of-hours GP service is provided to ensure that you, our patients, can always access a GP when you need one. We hope to look after the vast majority of your medical needs during office hours when we are fully staffed, but we understand that urgent problems do arise when we are closed.

Our HSE contract for medical card patients commits us to providing 24-hour care for patients with medical cards. There is no such obligation for non-medical card patients, but most GPs, us included, want to make sure that all of our patients are well looked after all of the time. We invest in a very good out-of-hours service midweek and weekends.
